Itinerary

Day One: Ready for a weekend in Amsterdam and Bruges?

7:00- Meet your guide at London Waterloo station to board your coach to embark on a ride to Dover, where you board a ferry that will take about an hour and thirty minutes to arrive in Calais. Once in Calais, we will drive to Amsterdam.

19:00- Upon arrival in Amsterdam, you check into your accommodations.

After a day of travel, head out with your group and a guide to the city centre to learn a bit about where you are spending your weekend, and then have Amsterdam to yourself for the rest of the night. You can wander the canals, admire the architecture, and decide whether or not you want to participate in the night life, including the Red Light District.

Day Two: Edam/Voldendam & Amsterdam

9:30- Depart for your excursion to Edam & Volendam, and with Edam only thirty minutes away, that will be the first stop.

In Edam, you will find a selection of cheeses, colourful buildings, and stain glass windows that will overwhelm your senses. Visit Kaasmarkt, the cheese market, to learn how cheese is sold, learn history through buildings, like the Waag House or the Edams Museum, or see the 17th century through Holland’s finest stain glass windows at the Grote Kerk. After a whirlwind of history through food and architecture, you will head to Volendam to see an old fishing village where you can still purchase fish as well as see the town’s traditional wear, even wear it yourself if you want. You can also go across the dyke to see the other part of Volendam, a place full of wooden houses, canals, and tight streets.

13:00- Arrive back in Amsterdam. In the afternoon, enjoy free time sightseeing & museum hopping. You can see Ann Frank’s House, the Van Gogh Museum, or even Heineken Brewery—all require tickets for entry.

Day Three: Today is all about Bruges!

8:30- Depart Amsterdam for Bruges

12:15- Arrive in Bruges

It is time to explore the medieval town of Bruges with a guided walking tour as well as some free time. In your free time, you will be overwhelmed by all you could possibly do. Climb up Belfort for breath taking views, enjoy a boat ride on the city’s canals or take a leisurely stroll in the Minnewater  Park. Do even more walking around The Markt to see 17th century houses or take a break to visit Stadhuis to see the city’s history in paintings. Experience as much or as little as you like, but know that everything you do is within the line of the old medieval walls.

15:00- Depart Bruges

21:30- Arrive in London
